The stars of 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' come out to party

The cast members of one of the biggest movie franchises, 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' rolled out the red carpet for the film’s lavish party in Los Angeles on December 10. The cast of the film posed for photos on the red carpet and were all decked out in style.

Michael Douglas and his two kids, Dylan and Carys attended, along with Ricky Martin and Christian Bale who also showed up with their kids. Others included Director Kevin Smith and his daughter Harley Quinn, and two members of The Backstreet Boys, Kevin Richardson and AJ McLean.

The main attraction of the premiere was a model of one of the props. An original model of the spacecraft from a galaxy far, far, away that was used in the film was on display on the red carpet.

One of the film’s stars, Riz Ahmed (he plays Bodhi Rook) a British rapper/actor told the press how the making of “Rogue One” was a huge inspiration to him. He explained that it was an honor to become a part of the great cast and the fans are the real ones who made the Star Wars franchise so successful. It all began with the first and original film, "Star Wars" and the main character, Luke Skywalker.

The Star Wars saga continues

'Rogue One' is the next installment of the Star Wars saga. Long before it, followed "Episode I: The Phantom Menace", "Episode II: The Attack of the Clones", "Episode III: Revenge of the Sith" and "Episode VII: The Force Awakens." In the new year 2017, we expect to see another addition to the franchise, "Episode VIII". The filmmakers are definitely getting ahead of themselves!

The popularity and the sales of the 'Star Wars' series have skyrocketed due to high demand. It seems like it's a never-ending story. And guess what? Another epic 'Star Wars' film is already being planned and is now in pre-production for 2019! That's right! Episode IX is next in line after 2017's film! The special effects and all the hard work that is put into these films get very expensive and time consuming.

Rumor has it, Episode IX, could be the last of the series.

The film opens December 16 in theaters.
