Pay attention: spoilers on Game of Thrones season 7 will follow! Remember the Tower of Joy scene in "GOT" season 6 last episode, in which Eddard Stark, after a fight against The White Bull and Arthur Dayne, The Sword of the Morning, finds his sister Lyanna and her secret son? At the end of the scene, Lyanna whispers in Eddard's ear: "His name is... [audio gets muffled]". Lyanna was referring, obviously, to Jon Snow's true name, which is a Targaryen one. A lot of theories surfaced about Jon's real name and now, according to the leaker who revealed "GOT" season 7 plot, the mystery is solved.

The leak

The Reddit user who leaked the "Game of Thrones" season 7 plot also leaked specific information about Jon. Since there is no need to spoil the details, we would just say that "someone" in season 7 will figure out Jon's heritage. As we can read on Reddit, "he is apparently a legitimized Targaryen named Aegon".

Aegon like Aegon I The Dragon and The Conqueror, first Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and king on the Iron Throne, is probably the most famous Targaryen in history.

The two sons of Rhaegar Targaryen

Since several details from the leaked season 7 plot have been confirmed by leaked photos, the spoilers tend to be considered legit. Nonetheless, there is something weird with Jon's real name. Book readers may remember that Rhaegar's second son, the one who was killed with his sister Rhaenys and his mother Elia Martell by The Mountain during the Sack of King's Landing, was also named Aegon. Aegon son of Rhaegar and Elia was just an infant when he was killed.

So the question is: isn't that weird that both the sons of Rhaegar were named Aegon?

Even if this looks strange, we must point out that the Tower of Joy scene (according to "A Song of Ice and Fire" book series) takes place after the Sack of King's Landing. Hypothetically, if Lyanna was the one who chose Jon's name, she may have named him Aegon since she (somehow) knew about what happened in King's Landing.

"GOT" season 7 will be back on HBO in Summer 2017.
