"Dhruva", the Telugu remake of blockbuster film "Thani Oruvan" has been generating hype in the Telugu states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, ever since it was announced. The movie was bankrolled under the banner 'Geetha Arts' and has got a huge amount of promotion from the production team.

Ramcharan's previous releases "Bruce Lee - The Fighter," and "Govindhudu Andarivadele" failed to break the records of "Magadheera" and now, "Dhruva" which is doing the expected amount of business at the worldwide box office seems to beat the records created by "Magadheera."

Allu Aravind's 'Geetha Arts' production team has mainly used social marketing for the promotion of the movie and to create positive vibes among the fans.

This seems to have worked well and this flick was expected to give a big break to the mega-hero.

Directed by Surender Reddy, "Dhruva" had been creating a positive buzz in the media, ever since it was released in the past week. Hip Hop Tamizha, who is the composer for Thani Oruvan had also worked for "Dhruva" and got a good response for the songs from the audience.

The Ramcharan and Rakul Preet Singh garnered some positive reviews and feedback from the movie critics.

The word of mouth helped the film go from strength to strength over the weekend. "Dhruva" has grossed Rs.30 crore in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, Rs.6.72 crore in the United States.

This Tollywood movie had reportedly grossed $1 million at the U.S box office on this Tuesday and this will be the first Ramcharan flick to have crossed $1 million in the U.S. The movie is estimated to have earned a share of Rs.30 crore for its distributors all over the world.

Hindi movie critic Taran Adarsh tweeted - Telugu film #Dhruva will cross $ 1 million in the USA today [Tue]... Thu to Sun $ 958,125, Mon $ 31,342. Total: $ 989,467 [₹ 6.68 cr]. @Rentrak. The movie is also said to have earned $223,224 through previews on Thursday.
