Debbie Reynolds has died.The legendary Hollywood icon died on Wednesday, December 28th at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles at the age of 84 following a stroke less than 24-hours after the death of her daughter, actress Carrie Fisher, 60.

"She wanted to be with Carrie," her son Todd told Variety.

It has been a shocking week for celebrity fans, in fact, the entire year of 2016 has been more than heartbreaking in the entertainment world, which forced fans to mourn the loss of well over 100 Celebrities in the past 12 months.

As previously reported, a 911 emergency call was placed around 1:00 p.m. from the home of Debbie Reynolds' son, Todd Fisher.

EMT's arrived on the scene transporting Debbie Reynolds to a nearby hospital after exhibiting signs of suffering a stroke. Reynolds and the Fisher family members gathered at Todd's home to make the final arrangements for Carrie Fisher, who passed away on Tuesday after suffering cardiac arrest on December 23rd, when Reynolds began feeling ill.

Following Carrie's sad passing, mother and Hollywood icon Debbie Reynolds released a statement via Facebook expressing her gratitude for all the kindness her family received during their sad and tragic loss. "Thank you to everyone who has embraced the gifts and talents of my beloved and amazing daughter. I am grateful for your thoughts and prayers that are now guiding her to her next stop."
