Alexis Waters is one of the contestants on "The Bachelor" 2017 season with Nick Viall. She's a 23-year-old aspiring dolphin trainer from Secaucus, New Jersey. She takes a risk in ditching the glammed-up look for far less conventional attire.

Alexis Waters is genuine

Chris Harrison tells Yahoo TV that Alexis Waters "makes a splash" on night one. He said she "committed to character 100 percent" in her impression on Nick, which is great because it shows how genuine she is. Harrison doesn't reveal how Nick Viall responds, but no doubt he'll go with the flow and appreciate Alexis as a creative thinker as one of the more memorable "Bachelor" contestants for the 2017 season.

More about 'The Bachelor' 2017 contestant

Alexis Waters shares on her ABC bio that if she could be any animal, it would be either a dolphin (surprise, surprise) or a dog. She would like to be a dolphin because she loves the water, and a dog because they're active. On a related note, if the contestant could be any fictional character of her choosing it would be the Little Mermaid.

Waters describes herself as "caring, romantic, and honest." Those are intrinsic qualities of an animal lover. Will it draw in Nick Viall? It's unclear at this moment how far Alexis goes on the show, but it won't be a shock if she charms the 36-year-old.

If there's one thing about Waters, she's not afraid to voice one of her most embarrassing moments with one of her ex-boyfriends. "The Bachelor" contestant said he told her at a New York Giants that she had a mustache.

On another hilarious note, Alexis admits one of her biggest fears is E.T., the alien. Everyone has a phobia of some sort, but that's definitely an interesting thing to be afraid of. Must be the huge eyes.

When the contestant was asked what her favorite movies are, she answered "Good Will Hunting," "Titanic," and "Tristan and Isolde." Will they touch on this subject matter at some point in the season?

Apparently, Waters isn't afraid to do things by herself no matter the enormity of it.

She says the most outrageous thing she's ever done was making the move to Miami "alone." No denying that would be a daunting task for anyone to pursue on a solo basis!

Alexis is a lot younger than Nick

Alexis is 13 years Nick's junior. Is there any way these two can be compatible with just the age difference? Even if the contestant is mature, it could be a hurdle for a reality television couple.

Alexis Waters will be joined by 29 other women when Nick Viall's season of "The Bachelor" 2017 premieres on Monday, January 2 on ABC at 8 p.m., ET/PT.
