The new show coming to A&E called "Escaping the KKK" was causing a huge uproar before it even aired. Now it turns out that this show will never air at all. TV Line shared that this show is now being pulled from the network. This show was all about four prominent Klan families and the people in their family that are trying to escape it. They didn't want to be part of the KKK like the rest of their family. A lot of people were unhappy about the idea of this show, including Ellen Pompeo of "Grey's Anatomy" who spoke out against it.

So what happened to cause "Escaping the KKK" to be canceled?

The reason A&E decided not to air "Escaping the KKK" is because of violations of A&E’s documentary policy made by "third-party producers." Originally they made the choice to just change the name. It was called "Generation KKK" and it was changed to "Escaping the KKK: A Documentary Series Exposing Hate in America." This wasn't enough to make everyone okay with the show, though.

It was just one small step that A&E made to try to quiet the people who were screaming out about the series.

A&E stood by wanting to air the show. They revealed that they wanted to expose and combat the hate that was going on in the world today. Instead of airing it, though, they made the choice to cancel it. This was because it came to light that money was exchanged in order to facilitate access.

They shared that they originally thought no money had exchanged hands, but when they found out they decided to quit working on the project all together. It will not even air at all now.

A lot of people felt like this show should be canceled due to the nature of it. This could have helped with A&E's decision, but until the news about the money exchanging hands came out they were standing by their plans to show it in 2017.
