Just like "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" movie is an annual tradition, so is the "A Charlie Brown Christmas" special which is televised each and every year. The cartoon special follows the antics of the popular "Peanuts" gang as they celebrate the upcoming holiday season. Thanks to televised and live streaming holiday special coverage, viewers will be able to enjoy "A Charlie Brown Christmas" live stream online feed or TV presentation on Thursday evening.

About the special

"A Charlie Brown Christmas" was first aired back in December of 1965 and is based on the Charles M. Schultz comic strip "Peanuts." The comic series follows the adventures of Charlie Brown, his dog Snoopy, and friends such as Linus, Lucy, and Peppermint Patty.

"Peanuts" first debuted as a comic strip in October 1950 as a daily and eventually featured Sunday comic. Schultz, who delivered the popular illustrated series, passed away in February of 2000, but his legacy lives on through his work including tonight's special.

Tonight's classic special involves Charlie suffering from some sadness despite the holiday season.

A friend suggests he direct a holiday-themed production, but he has some issues getting everyone together and on the same page (no pun intended).

This particular holiday special helped deliver more great "Peanuts" classic specials for other Holidays. They've included "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" for Halloween and "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving," which normally airs right around the November holiday.

How to watch live tonight

The holiday special will be telecast beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern Time on Thursday, December 1, 2016.
