Ouch! "The Young and the Restless" fans aren't going to like this juicy tidbit at all---Justin Hartley will not be coming back to reprise the role of Adam Newman, reports TV Insider. According to the report, head writer Sally Sussman stated that she sees no point in bringing Adam Newman back on the canvas and plans to keep him dead. This is not good news for the fans, who have been anxiously awaiting his arrival back on the scene.

So, what about Christian's paternity?

With Adam dead, where does that leave the big reveal that Christian's real father is Adam? According to Sassman, she plans to keep that secret buried for a while.

She doesn't want to acknowledge that Adam is Christian's dad, considering that Adam is off the canvas. If they decide later to recast Adam, she'll consider a big reveal and expose that Chelsea knew all along that Adam was Christian's father. She added that we didn't know who Summer's real father was for years and it just "added to the suspense when we found out."

Return of the 'Y&R' power couples

Victor will end his villain reign

"The Young and the Restless" spoilers tease that Victor will hang up his villain routine in the coming months. They will never be friends, but Sally Sussman wants to "soften" Victor and make him "more likable."
