Wally West has a date with destiny, or so he thinks. Tired of letting Clotho spin out a fate sans speed force, “The Flash”’s potential speedster will look to Doctor Alchemy for help on Tuesday. Wally’s (Keiynan Lonsdale) season 2 run-in with a blast of dark matter left him itching for a taste of meta-human power, but, little does he know, Flashpoint furnished him with the skills he always wanted. As Doctor Alchemy weave’s alternate timeline memories through his head during “Shade,” Wally will have to decide what he’s willing to trade for hero status.

Should Wally team up with ‘The Flash’ villain?

From what we’ve seen over the past few weeks, Doctor Alchemy is whipping up a storm of problems for the STAR Labs team. From the Rival to Magenta (and possibly Killer Frost), the doc’s experiments are prone to developing a case of the evils. While Barry contemplates telling Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and Wally the truth about the alternate timeline, the Scarlet Speedster will do whatever it take to keep Kid Flash from meeting the same fate as his Flashpoint counterpart.

“They know that Alchemy isn’t a good guy, so I don’t think anyone wants Wally near him,” Lonsdale teased, according to TVLine. “People become dangerous after Alchemy gets his hands on them, so [the initial response is], ‘OK, we need to not let that happen.'”

When Wally becomes seemingly possessed by the masked entity, however, all bets are off.

How badly does Wally want powers?

“The idea of being a speedster doesn’t scare him at all,” Lonsdale teased.

Even when Alchemy’s stimulated daydreams take a turn for the worse, Wally’s hunger to help others will lead him to believe the speedster route is “perfect for him. Though these visions get pretty nasty at one point, and that definitely troubles him in a sense.”

Should Wally acquire powers, past precedent leads us to believe the actor’s role would become significantly smaller. “The Flash” execs have always touted Barry as the series' main speedster, and, like Jesse Quick (Violett Beane), Kid Flash would undoubtedly be sent off to fight his own battles outside of Central City.
