The truth is finally within reach for “The Blacklist”’s Liz Keen. The “Blacklist” midseason finale is upon us, and the creative minds behind the NBC series have made a tantalizing promise -- answers are coming.

Who is Liz’s ‘Blacklist’ father?

The last three and a half seasons have been a wild ride for former Bureau profiler Liz Keen (Megan Boone). From meeting Red (James Spader) and discovering Tom’s (Ryan Eggold) deception to becoming a fugitive and a mother, there is one area of Liz’s life that has yet to see any form of closure.

Even as DNA evidence has been presented, refuted, and possibly tampered with, Masha’s true parentage remains a mystery. At this point, the entire series needs to take a seat on ‘Maury.’ When the credits roll on “Dr. Adrian Shaw: Conclusion,” one potential daddy might be out of the running.

“I think that Liz finally gets answers to the questions she’s been asking since the beginning of the show,” executive producer John Eisendrath told Entertainment Weekly. “That, to me, is what we are aiming for.”

First, however, Keen will need to survive an irate Alexander Kirk (Ulrich Thomsen) and his extraction team.

Was the DNA test faked?

Kirk re-entered Liz’s life with one goal in mind – to repair his failing health. Like the Russian government, the Blacklister believes Masha Rostovia to be his daughter, and, as such, a bearer of life-saving stem cells. Now it appears his plans have come tumbling down faster than the walls of Jericho. After four years of ‘Blacklist’ twists, however, viewers are justified in suspecting foul play.

After all, Kirk certainly does.

“At the end of episode 7, Alexander Kirk has every reason to believe [they’re fake], so part of the audience should or would tend to think maybe it is true that Reddington would like nothing more than to get Alexander Kirk out of Liz’s life, and if that means making him believe that he is not her father, or making Liz believe that Kirk is in fact not her father, he might do that,” Eisendrath teased.
