Supernatural” is here to brighten your day. Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) can elicit a laugh as easily as they can tread into stygian darkness, and the Winchester brothers will do just that when season 12 picks up after the holidays.

‘Supernatural’ echoes ‘Yellow Fever’

Back in season 4, “Supernatural” gave Dean a case of the scares. Infected with ghost sickness, the seasoned hunter nearly lost his life as fear crept through his veins. Gifting fans with some of the series’ most gif-able moments, “Yellow Fever” became an instant favorite. Now, episode 11 will give viewers a few laughs at Dean’s expense.

“In the episode we are filming right now, something happens to Dean that is similar to ‘Yellow Fever,’” Ackles told fans at Creation Entertainment’s “Salute to Supernatural” last weekend in New Jersey. “It’s a funny episode and it’s certainly, so far, one of my favorite scripts this season.”

These episodes often pack a punch, however, crushing our hearts into a thousand tiny pieces by the end. Just as “Yellow Fever” left Dean hearing hellhounds and “Mystery Spot” left him dead a hundred times over, the untitled hour will undoubtedly visit a dark revelation upon the “Supernatural” heroes.

What’s next on ‘Supernatural’?

The Thule is back, and that can only mean one thing – Hitler is back in play.

The Winchester bros. battled a cohort of Nazi necromancers back in 2013’s “Everybody Hates Hitler,” but one of their number slipped away. That mistake could cost the boys dearly when the WWII nightmare is discovered in a pocket watch, horcrux style.

In “The One You’ve Been Waiting For,” Sam and Dean will team up with the returning Aaron Bass (Adam Rose) to keep old Adolf’s soul firmly locked away.

“After learning that the soul of Adolf Hitler has been trapped in a 1930’s gold pocket watch, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) must act quickly to prevent a group of Nazi necromancers from resurrecting the Füror,” The CW teased.
