Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute had a major falling out during the 2nd season of "Vanderpump Rules." But currently, they are close friends. As fans of the Bravo TV reality series may recall, Schroeder infamously slapped Doute across the face after learning she had slept with her ex-boyfriend, Jax Taylor. The moment served as one of the most dramatic scenes of the series and continues to circulate the web with memes and hilariously captioned photos of the incident. While fans believed at the time that the two women would never make amends, they have since rekindled their friendship and recently both served as bridesmaids in Katie Maloney's wedding to Tom Schwartz.

Kristen Doute explains her friendship with Stassi Schroeder

During a recent interview with AOL, Doute opened up about how she and Stassi Schroeder were able to get their relationship back on track and admitted that the first think that happened was Schroeder forgiving her. As she recalled, Doute gave Schroeder space after their falling out during season two and then, after about a year and a half, they began communicating once again.

While Doute was nervous to reach out to Schroeder at first, she was willing to accept rejection if it came and hoped Schroeder would be accepting of her olive branch. According to Doute, she felt that she needed to reach out and let Schroeder know that she wanted to have her back in her life. Still, even after they began talking again, "little-by-little," as Doute explained, it took a while to get back what they once had.

"Eventually, when she was able to really get over Jax and not care about him anymore and become self-aware in her own place, she was able to then forgive me," Doute explained.
