Dancing With The Stars” captures the hearts of so many viewers as they perform each week for the Mirror Ball Trophy. Season 23 presented many twists and turns with the stars and the pros, including the recent injury of Sharna Burgess. Her partner, race car driver James Hinchcliffe may have lost his partner for a few weeks, but he sure did not miss a step as he moves closer to the finish line.

James Hinchcliffe partners with Jenna Johnson during Sharna’s injury

James and Sharna have had tremendous chemistry on the dance floor from the moment they met and worked together.

Sharna is an amazing teacher on “Dancing with the Stars,” but wouldn’t be as successful as she is if it weren't for the excellent skills of race car driver James Hinchcliffe. During her absence, Jenna Johnson stepped in, leading the star to more victories on the show while Sharna watched from the sidelines. Despite the awesomeness of Johnson, James' performance and high scores were an emotional moment for him and his injured partner. The race car driver took the top of the leaderboard while Sharna supported him from the upper balcony.

James knows too well how injuries can affect a career and performance

Sharna Burgess suffered an injury to her knee and had to take off several weeks from the competition with her partner. James Hinchcliffe is no stranger to injury himself as he too suffered a near-fatal accident just about two years ago during his Indy Car race. The driver hit a wall while driving 225 miles per hour and almost lost his life.

Being a part of DWTS and being paired up with such a fantastic pro as Sharna has taught James how valuable life is, and he now races toward the finish line and the Mirror Ball Trophy.

Sharna is now excited to return to the dance floor for the semi-finals and hopes to take James all the way to the finale! She stated that she felt pure panic when she got injured and thought she failed her partner. Sharna had to undergo an ACL reconstruction on that same knee and was fearful that her season with her partner was over.

Now she is back and hopes to make it to the end, helping James win the Mirror Ball!
