Mark Ballas is returning to Dancing With The Stars for Week 9 and fans will be anxious to see him back. The champion professional dancer took this season off, rather last-minute, to head over to Broadway and now he's back to sing as his bestie Derek Hough dances with Marilu Henner. What's Ballas been up to during his absence and what can fans expect Monday from “DWTS”?

What brings Mark back to 'DWTS' this week?

Week 9 of “Dancing With the Stars” brings performances featuring songs from Broadway, which is the perfect opportunity to have Mark Ballas return.

He took a break from Season 23 of “DWTS” in order to play Frankie Valli in “Jersey Boys” on Broadway, and he will be performing one of the songs from the stageshow during Monday's return.

As PureDWTS notes, Derek Hough and Marilu Henner will be dancing thesamba during their individual performance in Week 9 of “Dancing With the Stars.” Derek and Marilu will be using the “Jersey Boys” song “December 1963 (Oh What a Night),” and Ballas will be singing it for the performance.

Hough and Henner will also team up with Terra Jole and Sasha Farber for their duet, a dance to Bette Midler's “Big Noise from Winnetka.”

Will Ballas be back on 'DWTS' in future seasons?

Mark has not share decisively whether or not he will return to “Dancing With the Stars” as a pro in the future. He has shared quite a few social media posts about his upcoming wedding to fiancee BC Jean, and Ballas' fans know that the singing side of his career is really taking off.

Mark and BC perform as the duo Alexander Jean and they are gaining a lot of traction right now, so it may well be that he is ready to hang up his reality television dancing shoes.

“Dancing With the Stars” fans certainly miss Mark Ballas as a dance pro on the show, but they are thrilled that he has so many great things in the works right now. “DWTS” viewers will have quite the treat ahead with his return during Week 9 to sing for Derek Hough and Marilu Henner's salsa and it should be quite the show.

Idina Menzel will be the guest judge for these performances and viewers cannot wait to see how everything plays out.
