Kanye West is hospitalized at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles and is under observation. He is being treated for possible exhaustion and sleep deprivation. The decision that the rapper needed to be hospitalized was made after police responded to a disturbance call on Monday. He had already canceled the remaining dates of his Saint Pablo Tour.

Kanye's behavior

Before the hospitalization, Kanye had several days of rants and obvious bizarre behavior. Last Thursday night during a concert in San Jose, California the rapper did more ranting about politics than he actually performed.

He went on a political rant saying he didn't vote, but if he had voted it would have been for President-elect Donald Trump.

Last Saturday, West showed up 90-minutes late for his concert in Sacramento, California. Again, he went on a political rant and performed just two songs. He spent most of the time blasting Beyoncé and Jay-Z. After just 30 minutes, he left the stage. Fans were given a refund by Tickermaster. According to his rep, that would be Kanye's last performance of 2016 even though he has dates to perform throughout the rest of the year.

TMZ reported that the 39-year-old singer was at the house of his trainer, Harley Pasternak. Someone at the house called 911, saying Kanye was acting erratically. Paramedics showed up around 1:20 p.m. and after seeing West's condition, he was handcuffed to a stretcher and taken to UCLA Medical Center for a psychiatric evaluation.

Kim Kardashian West

Kanye's wife, Kim Kardashian West, was attending a charity event in New York where her late father was being honored.

It was her first public appearance since she was robbed in London. When she received the news about her husband, she flew back to Los Angeles to be with him.

It is interesting that this situation almost mirrors what happened to the the pair several weeks ago when Kim was robbed in London and Kanye stopped his show for her. Kanye and Kim are being shown support on social media, and people are wishing the celebrity couple the best during this situation.
