Florence Henderson died on Thanksgiving Day at the age of 82 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. The actress is best known for her role as the mother on "The Brady Bunch." She played the part of Carol Brady, the lovely lady who had three lovely daughters. She died of heart failure, shocking the entertainment world because she looked like the picture of health when she was seen on the "Dancing with the Stars" Season 23 finale on Monday night. She was there to support her Brady Bunch daughter, Maureen McCormick, who was one of the celebrity contestants on the ABC dance competition show this season.

Not only was Florence Henderson in the audience of "Dancing with the Stars" to support Maureen McCormick, but she was there as a former contestant herself. She appeared in 2010 during Season 11. Her pro partner was Corky Ballas, father of two-time champion Mark Ballas. They were the fifth couple to be eliminated.

Henderson was surrounded by family and friends when she died. The actress is survived by four children, 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her last public appearance was on Monday night. She was hospitalized on Wednesday and died a day later on Thanksgiving Day. It is shocking to the world because she had not been ill before her hospitalization and her death.

Condolences from TV family

Of course, Maureen McCormick, who played Marcia Brady, expressed her grief on Twitter for her TV mother. The two women were very close and stayed friends long after "The Brady Bunch" ended in 1974. Barry Williams, who played Greg Brady, tweeted that he was deeply saddened over Henderson's death.

He said he was proud to call her Mom and a life-long friend. Tom Bergeron, host of "Dancing with the Stars" considered Henderson a good friend. He wrote that he is heartbroken and he will miss his friend.

Because Florence Henderson died on Thanksgiving Day, it can be assumed that it made a statement that the actress was thankful for her successful life, and she was taking a rest because she had done all she could do for her family, friends, and fans.
