Doug Hutchison, known for his role in "The Green Mile" as the churlish yet childish guard, made headlines in 2011. He married a then 16-year-old girl by the name of Courtney Stodden after her mother and father consented to the union. Even though May-December relationships are common in Hollywood, Stodden's underage status was a disturbing shock across the country. However, the bride and groom overcame harsh criticisms, negative press and death threats for the fairy tale. Now that she's in her twenties, Stodden and Hutchison buried the past with a ceremonial vow renewal. Unfortunately for the overjoyed couple, tragedy followed the celebratory occasion.

Horror in the Hutchison home

Stodden suffered a miscarriage. The loss has impacted her health and relationship with Hutchison. She told Us Weekly, "I suffer from depression. My depression affects my appetite, sleeping patterns and overall perspective on life. At times, I have severe insomnia and other times I find myself sleeping too much. I have feelings of hopelessness but experience many moments of absolute euphoria." The traumatic event and weight of mental illness can have an upshot of drug abuse, alcoholism, separation or divorce.

Both Stodden and Hutchison received counseling for the unfortunate and unexpected event. However, the couple is prone to occasional splits. After their appearance on the reality series "Couples Therapy With Dr. Jenn" in 2012, the duo parted in 2013.

Fortunately, they reunited in 2014. Stodden told Us Weekly, "Doug is wonderful. He picks up my coffee beans that I spill on the floor. He picks up my foundation. He picks up my feathers from my big robe that I wear. My high heels are all over. I have a wonderful life, a wonderful husband."

Their romance has endured different calamities and hardships throughout its duration, and this miscarriage fractured their hope and happiness. Hopefully, Stodden and Hutchison can work through these difficulties and strengthen their bond in the process. What do you think?
