“The Walking Dead” has a long history of delivering monumental first episodes for each season. Sunday's premiere episode of season seven was a real emotional game-changer for the show. For the first time in the show's history, two major characters were killed off in the same episode, including a character that has been around since the first season.

Rest in peace Glenn Rhee

Brave Glenn Rhee (played by Steven Yeun) has always been a special part of the survivors led by Rick Grimes (played by Andrew Lincoln) on the show.

He met his wife in the Grimes band of heroes; he saved multiple lives with his scavenging skills, and he warmed our hearts with his morals. “The Walking Dead” is known for killing off characters filled with hope every season, with Glenn being the latest in a long line of missed characters.

Rest in peace Abraham Ford

The valorous Abraham Ford (played by Michael Cudlitz) was killed off as well, in a similar fashion to Glenn.

He puffed his chest up with a witty one-liner, while he was revealed as the person who Negan picked as his victim. After months of waiting, Abraham was given a death that displayed the strength of his character.

Negan has a vampire bat!

Both men fell prey to the delightfully evil Negan (played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan), the newest villain on “The Walking Dead.” Negan displayed his rules and leadership through a visceral beating with his baseball bat, which he affectionately named Lucille as a remembrance to his deceased wife. What ensued was a twisted journey that resulted in Rick bending a knee to Negan and promising half of his group's supplies to Negan every month.

Rick gets grimey!

Rick Grimes is no stranger to combat or defending his family, along with the rest of the Alexandria survivors. He has conquered malicious groups of enemies in previous seasons, but Negan and his group the Saviors stand as the toughest enemies Rick has seen yet. To make matters worse, Daryl Dixon (played by Norman Reedus) was taken as a hostage by Negan and the Saviors.

Kingdom come!

The preview of the next episode of “The Walking Dead” shows series veterans Morgan (played by Lennie James) and Carol (played by Melissa McBride) in a new community called the Kingdom.

Ezekial runs the Kingdom with his pet tiger Shiva, so the second episode seems like it will bring good tidings to help the fans mend their emotions.
