Dancing With The Stars” fans are rooting for James Hinchcliffe and Sharna Burgess this season, but an injury that the pro sustained last week during dress rehearsals has many of the couple's “DWTS” fans worried. He has been working with pro Jenna Johnson heading into Monday's show, but “Team Stop and Go” supporters are hopeful that Burgess will be back on the dance floor. What's the latest?

Burgess admits she was panicked after the 'DWTS' injury

As Sharna Burgess shared in her People blog after last week's performance, she was in a “pure panic” after the fall during rehearsal. She says that she's had ACL reconstruction on the knee that was injured and she was initially quite worried that her “Dancing With the Stars” season would be over as a result of the fall.

However, Burgess has worked with the show's physical therapist quite a bit and she was relieved to hear that there was no tear or major swelling after the fall. She was slated to have an MRI the day after last week's show, and she was able to stop by Ellen DeGeneres' show with James after the injury. However, her status heading into Week 8 has been somewhat uncertain. Will she be able to dance with Hinchcliffe?

Sharna's status for Week 8 has not yet been confirmed

Viewers will have to tune in to Monday's “Dancing With the Stars” to find out for certain, but the buzz over at PureDWTS is that it sounds as if Sharna's injury may have been resolved enough for her to dance. Chances are, however, that “DWTS” will do a fair amount of teasing the viewers about her status before Team Stop and Go performs.

“DWTS” fans are anxious to see Sharna and James dance together during Week 8, where they are slated to do a Viennese waltz and be involved in the face-off challenge. However, it sounds as if Jenna is fully prepared to perform with Hinchcliffe if Burgess' injury prevents her from dancing this week.

Could Team Stop and Go be facing elimination?

Are James and Sharna at risk of being eliminated this week? It sounds highly unlikely that they will be in jeopardy, but viewers get a bit antsy about the face-off challenge and the way it impacts immunity and not just this week's elimination, but next week's show as well. The number crunching at PureDWTS teases that Calvin Johnson and partner Lindsay Arnold, as well as James and Sharna, are surely safe, and Laurie Hernandez and Val Chmerkovskiy likely have nothing to worry about either. The rest of the group, however, is far more uncertain in terms of safety.

Will Sharna Burgess' injury impact her performances with James Hinchcliffe during Week 8 of “DWTS”? Could Sharna and James be the ones taking home the mirror-ball trophy this fall on “Dancing With the Stars”? Fans love these two together and hope that she is feeling well enough to hit the dance floor this week to continue on the quest for the big win.

Updated: According to TMZ, Sharna’s injury is too severe for her to dance this week, and upon the advice of her doctor, it sounds as if she is likely done for the season.
