Alright "Vampire Diaries" fans. CW has recently dropped a press release for the upcoming premiere episode 1 of it's hit drama series, "The Vampire Diaries" final season 8. I can't believe I'm saying it's the final season, but it certainly is, and it sounds like they'll be kicking it off with some pretty intense stuff with Stefan, continuing to try and find Damon and Enzo. Caroline thinks her family may be getting targeted after a shocking encounter, and more.

Episode 1 has a timeline jump.

CW named the first episode "Hello Brother," and started off the press release by putting the words: "the beginning of the end" in all caps.

From there, it is revealed that at least a few months have passed since the season 7 finale episode, and that Stefan will still be trying to find Damon and Enzo after they mysteriously disappeared from the Armory vault.

Bonnie has a hard time.

We're also going to see Bonnie experience a hard time, keeping her hope alive that they'll be able to find them. Then they reveal that Caroline is going to have a startling and very dangerous run-in with someone that leaves her thinking that she and Alaric might be in some serious trouble because someone could be targeting their family!

Stefan finds weird, new clues.

Eventually, we're going to see Stefan happen upon some new, very strange clues that will cause him to realize that whatever is holding a spell over Damon, might actually have an even stronger hold over him! So, it definitely sounds like it'll be a very interesting episode to start off the final season.

It's scheduled to finally air on Friday night, October 21st at 7pm central time, so be sure to mark that date down on your TV calendars.

Executive producers, Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson, reunited to write this episode while Michael Allowitz handled the directorial duties.

Crazy "Vampire Diaries" spoiler rumors are out there.

Additionally, there have been many spoiler rumors going around about this final season. One the more recent, funniest ones I've heard, is that Nina Dobrev, aka Elena Gilbert, refused to return, so they hired former "Twilight Saga" chick, Kristen Stewart, to step in for a few episodes to replace her.

I just had to mention it, because it is truly one of the most hilarious ones I've heard to date, mostly because it just doesn't really make any sense at all. Whywould they need to even hire Kristen Stewart? It's just crazy, and the rumor was shot down by Gossip Cop.

Nina Dobrev might return in episode 16.

Nina's official IMDB page, did say that she was returning in episode 16. Now, that entry has mysteriously been taken off her page, so I'm not really sure what's going on with that. Anyways, we'll try to keep you guys updated on any new developments that arise. Stay tuned.
