FX is unhappy about the show ending

According to the folks over at TV Line, the renewal announcement was served up at the end of September 2016, so the news has been out there for a little while now. They revealed that the show will indeed, air the 4th season in the Summer of 2017. The FX Networks Presidents of Original Programming, Eric Schrier and Nick Grad, served up some official statements, which thanked the show's creative team of: Carlton Cuse, Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan, for delivering such a great season for 2016.

They also revealed that they are indeed, sad to see that the show is ending ,next year, but are happy with the plotline.

The producers are at fault

Apparently, the show's demise is the producers' faults as they want the show to end. Executive producer, Carlton Cuse, said the original plan for the show, was just to only serve up 3 seasons, but the storyline expanded, so they decided to go ahead and go through with a new season 4.

Cuse concluded his statement by thanking the FX folks for allowing them to finish up the show on their own terms and timetable.

Season 4 to be exciting and climatic

Cuse went on to reveal that they have exciting and climatic plans in store for the final season. There were no details, mentioned, about how many episodes will be featured in season 4, but hopefully, they'll give you guys another 10 more.

We'll see. Cuse mentioned at the recent "2016 Television Critics Association" summer press tour that they're currently, trying to decide how many episodes to assign to the final season. Stay tuned.
