The road to recovery will be along one for Kensi Blye, but “NCIS: Los Angeles” fans shouldn’t count her out just yet. It will take a lot more than a coma and apparent paralysis to put a crimp in the special agent's indomitable spirit.Yes, you can expect Kensi (Daniela Ruah) to pick up her badge and gun once more -- actor Eric Christian Olsen (Deeks) confirmed as much while speaking with TV Guide. But while Ruah’s character may heal physically, the emotional fallout will be the real killer. Luckily, Kensi won’t have to go through it alone.

Deeks & Kensi closer than ever

As of “Ghost Gun," Deeks was worried that aiding his girlfriend’s recovery would be beyond his grasp. Far from shattering the Densi romance, Kensi’s trials and tribulations will bring the couple closer together.

“I know that it's a long road to recovery for her,” Olsen told TV Guide. “At the end of the day, I think we're gonna get her back 100 percent physically, but there's no way to go through these types of things unscathed as far as what its done to their psyche.”

Just as Ms.

Blye was there when her partner struggled to keep his head above water after “Descent," Deeks will have her back now.

“When we look at those kind of events, when Deeks was tortured, how that affected him. We look at Kensi's torture and how thataffected her in Afghanistan,” Olsen explained. “This is one more thing that will play a large role and, I think, drive these two characters together.”

What’s Next For 'NCIS: LA'?

As Kensi convalesces, the OSP team will have their work cut out for them.

One member down and still playing cat and mouse with the mole, Callen (Chris O’Donnell) and co. will find themselves looking into a case triggered by a good Samaritan during “Home Is Where the Heart Is."

“After a maintenance man saved the life of a lieutenant commander, the NCIS team uncovers his dark past which puts a local teenager in danger,” CBS teased. “Also, Sam must decide which colleague to take to the Los Angeles football game.”

Hmmm…sounds like someone is plugging the return of the LA Rams.
