Rip Hunter, where are you? “Legends of tomorrow” is missing a Time Master, and it looks like the Waverider’s owner will remain MIA for the foreseeable future. The captain scattered the Legends across the ages as season 2 began, saving them from an impending atomic blast. Nate Heywood (Nick Zano) brought the gang back together again, but Rip (Arthur Darvill) was nowhere to be found. As the White Canary (Caity Lotz) prepares to lead the team to feudal Japan, fans are beginning to wonder if Darvill’s character will ever return.

Where Is Rip Hunter?

“That’s going to be something that’s always going on in the background, and in some cases, the foreground, of the various episodes,” executive producer Marc Guggenheim told Entertainment Weekly.

For now, however, there’s not even a breadcrumb trail for the Legends to follow.

“To a certain extent, we don’t want to change the mission statement from fixing aberrations to going and saving Rip. The bat has been taken out of their hands because there’s no way to find Rip, so what would they do?" Guggenheim teased. "You will find out [what happened to Rip] before the Legends do.”

If we had to wager a guess, we’d bet Rip took his duster and six-shooter and headed off to the Old West. Jonah Hex (Johnathon Schaech) will return in episode 6 (“Outlaw Country”), and we sure hope Rip is by his side.

Will Rip Hunter be in the Crossover?

Unfortunately, early set photos for The CW’s four-way DC crossover do not feature Darvill’s character. As per YVR Shoots and Dominic Purcell’s (Heatwave) Instagram, everyone from Citizen Steel to Firestorm (Franz Drameh and Victor Garber) will suit up with the Flash (Grant Gustin), the Green Arrow (Stephen Amell), and Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) for the weeklong adventure this November.

“Legends’” “Invasion!” will serve as the final crossover episode, but so far there hasn’t been nary a glimpse of Rip’s trench coat amongst the various super suits.
