Country singer Jana Kramer and partner Gleb Savchenko tangoed their way into the "Dancing With The Stars" judges' hearts last week. They earned a 10 from Hough, Tonioli, Inaba and guest adjudicator Pitbull to nail that illusive perfect 40. But there's more to DWTS than dancing for the Rochester Hills, Michigan native, Kramer. She is dancing for a special mission and it will have you smiling through your tears.

'DWTS' is Kramer's domestic violence platform

Jana Kramer is a survivor, in her own words.

The 32-year-old suffered horrific domestic violence at the hands of her ex-husband, the late Michael Gambino. He was sent to prison for attempted murder and committed suicide after his release. Kramer talks about terrifying incidents where he nearly throttled her. She expressed frightening near-death experiences where her life passed before her eyes, as they say. Her "Dancing With The Stars"performances are a way to show women that there is hope, health and happiness away from the perpetrator. She certainly moved Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba.

'Put The Nail In It'

To raise awareness to the prevalence of domestic violence, Kramer is participating in a DV event called "Put The Nail In It." Women paint their ring fingernail purple to signify survival and solidarity with battered women. The singer shared scary statistics in a Facebookpost that 1 in 4 women will be abused and 3 million children will witness it. That passion seems to have translated to her dancing as judge Julianne Hough declared that Kramer owned the Argentine tango.

Dancing for the daughters

The Academy of Country Music Awards winner has a special mission. Beyond just raising awareness to domestic violenceshe's dancing for the moms, daughters, wives and sisters. Kramer has been through a lot this season, with reports of marital problems with her second husband, footballerMike Caussin with whom she shares a child. Kramer's "DWTS" message is very clear: that her own daughter and all the daughtersof the world know how special they are.

From Tango to Samba

The "One Tree Hill" actress faces a new challenge with partner Gleb Savchenko in the next "DWTS" episode. From sexy tango to frolicky samba, will be, as Kramer puts it, "a 180." But the Country Music Awards winnerhas a very good chance of winning this season of "Dancing With The Stars" and taking home that mirror ball.
