Nancy Grace may have ended her 12-year run on ‘HLN,’ but that does not mean she has given up on crime fighting. In fact, quite the opposite. The Georgia native and champion of children has a series of best-selling novels. Serving as executive producer, Grace’s “Hailey Dean: Murder, With Love” will premiere on the Hallmark Movies and Mysteries channel on October 13th. The flick stars Kellie Martin who plays a prosecutor-turned-therapist with Grace making a cameo appearance as a defense attorney. The Hallmark channel has seen an uptick in popularity with its lineup of movies featuring female sleuths.

Martin, who in the past headlined the “Mystery Woman” movies, is no stranger to Hallmark. Hallmark’s murder mystery thrillers have certainly given an extra career boost to actresses like Candance Cameron Bure, Laurie Loughlin, Allison Sweeney and Brooke Shields.

According to Grace, the “Hailey Dean Mystery” movie was shot in Vancouver during the summer, and she added that she had a hand in picking the cast. She confessed to watching Kellie Martin’s “Mystery Woman” movies during her pregnancy back in 2007.

Grace is also hoping to launch a crimefighting web site shortly after the presidential election. The 56-year-old former prosecutor says it will be a vehicle used to help solve homicides, give forensic insights and find missing people, particularly children.

The days of ‘HLN’

As a legal commentator and television host, Nancy Grace was notoriously known for her outspokenness on the HLN show “Nancy Grace.” A strong advocate for victims’ rights, her bluntness often brought her high kudos and strong criticism. Her popular current affairs cable show ran from 2005 to 2016.
