Viewers of Fox's "Empire" have been waiting for Mariah Carey to be a guest on the popular hip-hop drama. The time has finally come. The singer will make a guest appearance during Season 3 in the third episode. She will be cast in the role as Kitty to help Jamal Lyon, played by Jussie Smollett. Fans of the show are definitely looking forward to seeing thatepisode on Wednesday night, October 5, 2016.

Mariah Carey's role as Kitty

Cookie, played by Taraji P. Henson, asked Kitty to do her a favor hoping it will help her son Jamal overcome his struggle to perform again.

The 46-year-old pop singer will help Jamal through some emotional times so he can get back on the right track. In a previous episode, Jamalhad made the decision to stop performing because of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Kitty will encourage him along the way as he records a new song. How much will Kitty's involvement help Jamal? That's what die-hard fans are looking forward to finding out. One thing for sure is that Kitty and Jamalwill make some beautiful music as they perform a duet together.

Other guest appearances

"Empire" is known for Celebrities making guest appearances. Mariah Carey is not the only celebrity joining the cast on October 5. Two other celebrities will also show up during the same episode.Romeo Millerplays the part of Gram who wants Tiana's attention, and so does Hakeem.Taye Diggscomes on as Angelo Dubois as Cookie's new love interest. Lucious and Cookie become at odds with each other when Lucious looks at Angelo as a rival and tries to come between Angelo and Cookie.

October 5 is no exception for celebrity guest appearances. In the two previous seasons, other well-known celebrities have popped in on one or more episodes. In Season 1 and 2, other well-known guests included Mary J. Blige,Kelly Rowland, Alicia Keys, Lenny Kravitz,Adam Rodriguez, Rita Ora, Snoop Dogg, Jennifer Hudson,Gladys Knight, Pattie LaBelle, Ludacris, Cuba Gooding Jr. andRaven-Symoné. Expect to see other celebrities during Season 3.

However, they all are not musical guests.
