"Dancing With The Stars" 2016 returns to ABC on Oct. 31 with Halloween Night, an evening of ballroom fun that's sure to feature plenty of magical tricks and treats from the seven remaining pairs. So who will dance what and how will the two-round structure of week eight workfor the "DWTS" season 23 competitors?

'Dancing with the Stars' season 23: Halloween Night details

Round one will see James Hinchcliffe and Sharna Burgess, Laurie Hernandez and Valentin Chmerkovskiy, and the other five pairs still in the "DWTS" 2016 Mirrorball Trophy mix performing one previously unlearned dance style each. The couple who earns the highest marks from judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Julianne Hough will capture three treats: five bonus points, immunity from the elimination that will close out the show, and the right to sit out round two.

Here's a look at the seven scheduled performances:

  • Olympic champion Ryan Lochte and Cheryl Burke, tango to "Howlin' for You"
  • Country singer and actress Jana Kramer and Gleb Savchenko, jazz to "Little Shop of Horrors"
  • Reality TV star Terra Jole and Sasha Farber, cha cha to "Day-O"
  • Former NFL star Calvin Johnson Jr. and Lindsay Arnold, quickstep to "Dr. Bones"
  • IndyCar driver James Hinchcliffe and Sharna Burgess, Viennese waltz to "You Don't Own Me"
  • Olympic champion Laurie Hernandez and Valentin Chmerkovskiy, Viennese waltz to "Pure Imagination"
  • "Taxi" alum Marilu Henner and Derek Hough, Argentine tango to "Sweet Dreams"

'DWTS' dance-off returns... again

The episode will continue as the six pairs who did not earn immunity during round one take part in head-to-head dance-off battles.

The winner of each face-off --one salsa, one jive, and one cha cha-- will receive three bonus points. Just before the credits roll, "Dancing with the Stars" 2016 co-hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews will send yet another couple packing.

'Dancing with the Stars' results: Week 8 speculation

Of the seven pairs still in the mix for the "DWTS"2016 championship, Hinchcliffe and Burgess have earned the most judges' points to date with 258, but Hernandez and Chmerkovskiy trail them by just three points with 255.

Given their season-long success, either pair winning immunity wouldn't be a surprise. However, it's no guarantee, since both Kramer (Latin Night) and Johnson (Face-Off Night and Eras Night) have also found themselves atop the "Dancing with the Stars" 2016 leaderboard at least once this season.

When it comes to the week eight elimination, it would be surprising to see anyone other than Lochte get the boot.

He's scored 15 fewer points than any other competitor, and though his redemption story is compelling,he's the weakest dancer remaining.
