"Dancing With The Stars" 2016 continues this evening on ABC with Halloween Night, which will feature the seven remaining celebrity/professional pairs hoofing it spooky-style for a shot at continued competition life. Although some of the "DWTS" season 23 hopefuls are virtual shoo-ins to advance, others will find themselves in decidedly scarier territory when show hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews usher in the evening's elimination. So who's probably safe, and who should have his --or her-- bags packed come results time?

'DWTS' 2016 results speculation: Safe!

As season 23 has progressed, two pairs have emerged as the Mirrorball Trophy frontrunners: Olympic champion Laurie Hernandez and Valentin Chmerkovskiy, who were the preseason favorites to take the "Dancing with the Stars" 2016 title, and IndyCar driver James Hinchcliffe and Sharna Burgess, whose presence at the top of the full season leaderboard to date is something of a surprise.

Both couples are no-brainers to advance --probably all the way to the finals-- and unless voters lost their minds last week, neither should worry at all about going home tonight (especially since Bergeron didn't tweet that  a "shocking" elimination is in store for "DWTS" fans).

In the middle of the pack

In all likelihood, former NFL wide receiver Calvin Johnson Jr. and Lindsay Arnold as well as singer Jana Kramer and Gleb Savchenko will be safe to dance again next week, but their cumulative season scores of 244 and 240 put them in the middle of the pack. The perpetually smiling Johnson, who shared the top spot on the "DWTS" 2016 leaderboard with Hinchcliffe last week, is a good bet to continue on, while Kramer --who didn't fare quite as well during Eras Night-- is slightly more likely to be shown the door. (But she's probably still safe.)

Also riding in the center of the pack are Reality TV star Terra Jole and Sasha Farber, who have amassed 137 points during their "DWTS" tenure. They too will likely advance tonight.

In the 'DWTS' danger zone

With five couples likely safe to dance again, only two pairs remain: Olympic gold medalist Ryan Lochte and Cheryl Burke, and "Taxi" alum Marilu Henner and Derek Hough.

Although Lochte has earned the fewest judges' points this season by a wide margin --just 215 to Henner's 230-- he fared better last week, posting a final mark of 66 to Henner's 64. One of these couples will almost certainly get the boot, but which one will depend on which fan base got out the vote last week.

So who will be boo-ted tonight? Watch "Dancing with the Stars" 2016 Halloween Night and find out.
