When "Dancing With The Stars" 2016 continued on Oct. 24 from the legendary ballroom, the eight couples still hoofing it for the Mirrorball Trophy took part in Eras Night, an evening of performances inspired by the 1920s through the 1990s. By night's end, a pair of celebrity guys held a tie for the top spot on "DWTS" judges Len Goodman, Julianne Hough, Bruno Tonioli, and Carrie Ann Inaba's weekly leaderboard, while a female hopeful got the boot. Here's a look at the final results.

James Hinchcliffe, Calvin Johnson Jr. tie for first

When the evening's dust finally settled, IndyCar driver James Hinchcliffe, who performed a1940s Jitterbug with pro partner Sharna Burgess, and former NFL wide receiver Calvin Johnson Jr, who delivered a speedy 1950s jive with Lindsay Arnold, shared the top spot on the leaderboard with 74 points each.

Both couples earned 36 points for their individual routinesin addition to38 points for their participation in the winning Team Past group dance. Both men are potential "Dancing with the Stars" 2016 title winners, as both are popular with fans and both have topped the "DWTS" leaderboard at least once before.

  • "Taxi" alum Marilu Henner and Derek Hough, 29 + 35 = 64

'DWTS' Eras Night results: Who went home?

With the evening's dancing in the books, the last two couples facing elimination at the close of the Oct.

24 show were McCormick and Chigvintsev, whomoddsmakers had predicted would get the boot, and "DWTS" week six leaderboard toppers Kramer and Savchenko. In the end, Maureen McCormick was sent packing, leaving just seven couples to dance next week.

"Dancing with the Stars" 2016 will return next Monday night on ABC.
