"Jill and Jessa: Counting On" star Jessa Duggar revealed a bombshell announcement to her family in a very special way during the Oct. 18 episode of the family's TLC series. She and husband Ben Seewald are expecting their second child.

The reality star found a very unique and sweet way to announce the family's expansion, using her firstborn son Spurgeon as a messenger. The 11-month-old shared the news via a chalkboard that was used during a photo session for the couple.

How they planned the big reveal for their family

Said the reality star to the TLC cameras, "We have a little chalkboard that we’re going to have in the photos with us that has a special announcement for my family.” The couple have wanted to expand their family, but didn't expect to be doing such so quickly after Spurgeon was born, revealing they were “both excited and surprised” when they learned the news of Jessa's pregnancy.

“I mean, for my sister-in-law Anna and for my sister Jill, they didn’t get pregnant like right off, like bam!” said Jessa in the episode. She then revealed that she is likely more like her mother than she realized.

'I guess I'm like my mom

“I guess I’m built more like my mom," she laughed of Michelle Duggar, who gave birth to 19 children.

People Magazine reported that the couple revealed they are not prepared for the prospect of having two children under the age of two-years-old running about their modest home. “No — we’re not prepared, not yet,” said Jessa to the magazine. “We’ll be getting prepared. We didn’t feel prepared to be parents the first time around!"

The couple revealed in an interview with Us Weekly that they are grateful and thankful for their newest addition. "We are so thankful that God is adding to our family — 2017 is shaping up to be a wonderful year already and we know Spurgeon will do a great job in his new role.

Having Spurgeon has been such a wonderful blessing and we cannot wait to see the face of this sweet new baby (or babies!)."

The couple continues their plans to adopt children from overseas orphanages as well. Arkansas law requires a couple to married for at least two years before beginning the process of adoption. Jessa and Ben will be celebrating their second wedding anniversary this November.
