"Jill & Jessa: Counting On" star Jill Duggar's nasty quip towards fans who slam husband derick dillard's health shut down his social media haters. The couple recently returned to the United States after almost a year living overseas as part of a religious mission where questions about the reality star's health continued to make headlines. Prior to leaving for El Salvador, Dillard needed some reconstructive surgery on his jaw, requiring the reality star to get braces. But since living and working in an impoverished area of the region as a missionary, the 27-year-old Dillard has begun to look haggard and thin.

What's the scoop on Derick Dillard's health?

Fans have questioned the couple on their respective social media accounts about the status of his health, but have received no response until recently. During a recent Instagram post, Dillard revealed a photo of a special snack that Duggar made for him before bed, a plate of fried Oreos. Fried Oreos are a carnival treat where an Oreo cookie is dipped in a batter, fried until golden brown and topped with powdered sugar. Dillard stated in his photo caption, "Ahh... Nothing quite like a good bowl of fried Oreos for a bedtime snack!

Jill Duggar confronts fans after months of negative remarks about her husband

Duggar, who is normally non-confrontational on social media, replied, "LOL, just wondering what people will say about your diet now????? #watchingcomments#cheapentertainment."

The couple regularly post photos of food on their respective Instagram pages. On July 4th, Dillard posted a pic of the couple on Instagram as they picked up a favorite snack, Buffalo wings, at a local eatery.

The TLC star commented, "Just picked up some buffalo wings to celebrate #4thofjuly #pollocampero #merica #centralversion." Duggar also posted a pic of Dillard and his mom Cathy Dillard with a big plate of spaghetti pie, a family favorite recipe.

The couple returned to Arkansas and the Duggar family homestead in the summer and was set up in a home owned by patriarch Jim Bob Duggar. Although the couple has not disclosed their future plans as missionaries, rumor has it that they are focused on expanding their family.

The Zika virus is still a big issue in Central America, so it has been teased that the couple will remain in the United States and work remotely as missionaries until Duggar becomes pregnant and gives birth to their second child. The couple have expressed an interest in giving their son Israel a little brother or sister in the near future.

"Jill & Jessa: Counting On" airs Tuesdays on TLC.
