With two weeks of "Dancing With The Stars" 2016 formally in the books, music icon Vanilla Ice is riding in the middle of the pack with 51 out of 80 possible judges' points under his belt. The 48-year old rapper and producer hit Twitter on Sept. 24 to comment on his "DWTS"-driven weight loss and his "drill sergeant" pro dance partner, season 19 Mirrorball Trophy winner Witney Carson. So what did he have to say about his experience?

How much weight has Vanilla Ice lost on 'DWTS' 2016?

According to the tweet, the performer --who began season 23 with an already-trim figure-- has lost eight pounds to date during his tenure as a "DWTS" contestant.

He admitted that the weight loss hasn't come easily, as his rehearsals alongside Carson have left him "so sore," but still he remained philosophical about the experience, rightly quoting the old adage "No pain no gain."

Vanilla Ice isn't the only contestant to lose weight so far this season: model Amber Rose has also dropped an impressive 10 pounds during her partnership with Maksim Chmerkovskiy, according to reports.

Vanilla Ice versus Rick Perry on the menu

When "Dancing with the Stars" 2016 resumes on Sept. 26, Vanilla Ice, Carson, and the rest of the cast will take part in a night of fast-paced face-off dances to decide which six couples will be safe from elimination and who could stand in the ominous glow of the red lights during Tuesday's results show.

Vanilla Ice and Carson have an excellent chance at earning immunity, as they're scheduled to compete head-to-head with the season's lowest-scoring pair, former Texas governor Rick Perry and Emma Slater, who have earned only 42 points to date.

Judges Len Goodman, Julianne Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Bruno Tonioli will decide which couple's paso doble they prefer: either Vanilla Ice and Witney's version to Zayde Wolf's "Save Tonight," or Perry and Slater's jaunt to "Tamacun" by Rodrigo y Gabriela.

Other planned "DWTS" Face-Off Night match-ups include Laurie Hernandez against Marilu Henner, Maureen McCormick against Amber Rose, Jana Kramer against Babyface, James Hinchcliffe against Ryan Lochte, and Terra Jole against Calvin Johnson Jr.

Watch Vanilla Ice and the rest of the celebs still in the mix get their groove on as "Dancing with the Stars" 2016 continues Sept. 26.
