The Young and the Restless fans have been speculating for weeks that Justin Hartley was leaving the CBS soap opera. This week the speculation kicked into overdrive when the cabin was blown up and he was presumed dead. Justin Hartley took to Facebook to reveal that he is out as Adam Newman but appreciated that the Y&R fans accepted him so openly almost two years ago. He encouraged the fans to watch his new show, This Is Us.

Justin's goodbye

Justin stated that he didn't want this to be goodbye, but farewell for a few weeks.

Hartley explained that he will no longer be a part of the Young and the Restless, but he appreciated the love from the fans of the show. He added that the fans make the show special, and he wanted to stay quiet about Adam's fate until it was aired to protect the storyline. He encouraged the fans to tune into his new NBC show, This is Us.

Justin wrote,"After many weeks of having to keep quiet in order not to spoil storylines for all of you, the time has finally come that I’m able to write you this letter.

Although I am saying goodbye to Y&R, this is not a goodbye letter. I felt it was more important to write a thank you note. Each and every one of you helped make my time on the show enjoyable. I always loved hearing about how excited all of you were for certain characters, how disgusted you were with others, at times even mine, or how we were able to help you escape from a hectic day. You are some of the most loyal and dedicated fans I’ve ever encountered. You are truly the heart of the show. It simply does not work without you. I wanted to thank you for that.
