Ever since Justin Hartley announced he was leaving the Young and the Restless, the fans have been in a tailspin, anticipating who would step into the role and resurrect Chadam.  On Air On Soaps reports that CBS is not planning to recast Adam, "at this point." For now, Adam will stay dead.

No Adam?

The Young and the Restless fans value Adam's character as being one of the most important roles on the show right now.

Most all the storylines revolve around him and his father, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). Imagine our surprise when we learned that CBS was planning on not bringing in a new Adam and decided to move forward with the show without Adam Newman

At first, I asked myself, is that even possible? Y&R without Adam? After thinking about it for a little while, I realized that not casting another Adam, may be a smart move. It will be sad to say goodbye to Adam, but saying goodbye, for now, is a smart move on CBS's part.

Another recast may flop

The Young and the Restless has recast the role of Adam several times.

He has had two wonderful actors play the part--Justin Hartley and Michael Muhney. Is it possible they could get lucky a third time?

Of course, it is in the realm of a possibility, but TPTB ( the powers that be) at CBS has decided not to take that chance. They decided to keep Adam's memory alive by keeping Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) "angry and in mourning" and to keep the storylines focused on him right now. His death may transform Victor, forcing him to make big changes in his own life.

Chelsea will learn that she's stronger than she ever dreamed and teach Connor that they can overcome anything.

Pairing Chelsea with Nick?

The Young and the Restless has been testing the waters between Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Chelsea for quite some time. The duo has great chemistry together and seems to enjoy working together. It seems highly likely that the writer will put them together, they will marry, and just when life is wonderful for Chelsea again--bam, Adam will reappear. It's really just typical soap opera drama .

The Young and the Restless fans, are you upset that Adam Newman will not be recast at this time? Would you like to see Chelsea with Nick?
