Last night's "Teen Mom OG" showed that a lot of changes have happened between Amber Portwood and Gary Shirley. The two previously had a tumultuous relationship, partially due to the fact she was on drugs for a good part of Leah's early childhood.

Does Amber know best?

Amber Portwood did time in prison on drug charges but has been sober since coming out. She is currently in a relationship with Matt Baier, which brings controversy as well. Since getting out of prison, Portwood has worked hard to be a huge part of Leah's life.

Gary Shirley wasn't always as easy to appease as he seems to be now. He was hard on Portwood when she first walked back into Leah's life. His main goal was to protect his daughter at all costs.

Gary Shirley is currently married and has another daughter. He met Kristina when Amber was locked up and she built a relationship with Leah. There is a fine line between a mother and step-mother, and it seems that sometimes Kristina walks the line a little too much. Despite the fact that she is one constant in Leah's life, no one will replace her mother

Gary Shirley slams Amber

After what seemed to be like a truce called between Amber Portwood and Gary Shirley, things changed.

According to the Hollywood Gossip, Shirley slammed Portwood during last night's "Teen Mom OG" when he talked about the care she gives Leah. There was a big upset over Leah not brushing her teeth when she was with Portwood so when he dropped her off for the week, Shirley made sure to mention it. Obviously, the comment wasn't received well.

Things seem to be going well now for the sake of raising Leah. Amber Portwood and Gary Shirley have worked together to do what is best for their daughter regardless of their personal feelings.

Leah loves both of her parents and while it isn't an ideal situation to keep bouncing her back and forth, it is what works for them at the moment. While they are no longer together, they are bonded forever.
