Lisa Vanderpump has long been known as a dog lover and now, she's taking a major stand in her continued fight against animal cruelty in Asia. As the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star shares tweets revealing the harsh and brutal treatment of dogs throughout China, she has posted a message to fans on Instagram in hopes of having them join in as she makes a major change in the animal world. 

In her post, which was shared on September 8, Vanderpump requested fans join her and a number of other animal rights activists, including Andrea Gung of the Duo Duo Project and Mark Ching of Animal Hope & Wellness, next Wednesday morning, September 14, at 8:00 am in the U.S.

Capitol Visitor Center. The event is scheduled to take place at the Congressional Auditorium and during the meeting, Vanderpump and her peers will be discussing the dog meat trade in Asia, as well as the brutal Yulin Dog Meat Festival in Yulin, China.

"We hope to see you there! Help be a voice for the voiceless!" Lisa Vanderpump wrote in her message to fans.

Earlier this year, as filming began on the upcoming 7th season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, it was widely reported that Vanderpump may not be back. However, after agreeing to return a short while later, as reported by TMZ, Vanderpump allegedly made a deal with producers which would allow her to showcase a number of important causes, including her fight for animal rights and her work with the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transexual) community.

TMZ also reported that Vanderpump and her husband, Ken Todd, were in the process of opening an animal adoption agency in West Hollywood, California, which would also be featured on the show.

Lisa Vanderpump and her co-stars, including Eileen Davidson, Lisa Rinna, Kyle Richards and Erika Girardi, are set to return to Bravo TV later this year for the 7th season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Stay tuned for the upcoming announcement of the season's premiere date.
