Nick Gordon, who dated the late Bobbi Kristina Brown, has been found legally responsible in her death. This was declared by a judge on Friday after Gordon failed to appear in court.

Wrongful death civil lawsuit

After Brown's death in 2015, the Brown estate filed a civil lawsuit against Gordon, claiming he was responsible for Bobbi Kristina's death. The lawsuit alleged that Nick injected Bobbi with something toxic, and placed her in a bathtub unconscious. The same tub in which she was found in her Roswell home in January of 2015, where she remained in a coma for six months before ultimately dying.

Nick Gordon has failed to appear in court, not just once, but twice, though claimed he is not responsible for her death. Therefore, Judge T. Jackson Bedford of Fulton County Superior Court says any allegations made by the plaintiff in this case are admitted through omission. The lawsuit was originally seeking $50 million in damages, and a jury will determine the amount that will be awarded to Brown's conservator.

Nick Gordon and Bobbi Kristina Brown's relationship

Brown's conservator, Bedelia Hargrove, claimed in court thatBobbi Kristina's death was the result of a violent altercation between her and Gordon.

Legal documents claim that the two were in a heated argument, prior to Gordon allegedly giving Bobbi a "toxic cocktail" and placing her face down in the bathtub filled with cold water. The lawsuit also goes on to suggest that Gordon was physically abusive to Bobbi Kristina, and was involved in money laundering with her money, with no permission to do so.

Bobbi Kristina's autopsy

In March of 2016, an autopsy of Brown's body was completed and revealed that there were a number of drugs involved in her death.

These included benzoylecgonine, morphine, alcohol, marijuana and benzodiazepines. The latter is a medication used to sedate patients, or as a treatment for anxiety.

The official cause of death for Brown was classified as pneumonia.

Criminal charges have yet to be filed against Nick Gordon.
