Reality Steve had been sharing for months that Luke Pell would be The Bachelor. On Tuesday night, they decided to announce who got the job, and Luke was not the name that was revealed. It turned out that Nick Viall will be the one handing out roses instead. Luke Pell spoke to Us Magazine and shared exactly what went down, and it is pretty shocking the way that ABC handled it all.

Why isn't Luke Pell The Bachelor?

Honestly, at this time Luke Pell doesn't seem to know the exact reason he wasn't picked to be on the show.

Luke thought he had the job, but that wasn't the truth. Luke Pell revealed saying, "We were all satisfied, had agreed to the contracts and everything was moving forward. I was checked in to my flight to come to L.A. I got a call from producers Sunday night at about 10 p.m. They said ABC had decided to quote-unquote go in a different direction. I was supposed to fly out Monday morning at 9 a.m. I had my bags packed and everything. Most dramatic Monday ever!”

Luke Pell thought that he was going to be on the show.

He had his life on hold so that he could be The Bachelor. It turned out that this wasn't the case at all, though. At the very last minute, they made the choice to have Nick Viall do the job.

What other plans had been made?

It turns out that a lot of other plans had been made as well. Luke Pell shared that they had already talked about his sister coming out there to help with a date and had those plans made. Luke had even met with the guys in charge of wardrobe.

If Nick Viall did all of this, Luke doesn't know, but he thought that he was the guy.

Luke Pell is moving on, though. It doesn't sound like he wants anything else to do with the show at all now. Luke is living his life in Nashville, and hopefully, he will find love on his own without going back on reality television. Luke doesn't have any plans to try and become The Bachelor again in the future.

Are you shocked to hear that ABC handled things this way and didn't tell Luke Pell until 11 hours before the big announcement?
