Country singer Jana Kramer and pro dancer Gleb Savchenko lit the ballroom on fire with a red-hot routine when Dancing With The Stars season 23 premiered Sept. 12 on ABC. Although the blush-worthy Viennese waltz drew mixed reactions from the oft-picky panelists, it scored well enough to secure a tie for second place on the DWTS week one leaderboard, and puts them in excellent position to advance further in the competition.

'Healing' via DWTS?

During the duo's recorded pre-dance segment, Jana Kramer touched on recent troubles in her personal life --including her recent separation from husband Mike Caussin-- and hoped that competing on Dancing with the Stars season 23 would prove to be "a healing experience." She said that being paired up with Savchenko, who last appeared on the US version of the hit reality dance competition during season 10, was like hitting "the jackpot."

A 'Dangerous' dance in action

The duo definitely didn't disappoint.

Their Viennese waltz, appropriately set to Ariana Grande's "Dangerous Woman," was one of the sexiest dances ever delivered on Dancing with the Stars. It was delivered by both with breathtaking intensity and passion, but not all four of the judges appreciated the steamy romp.

Bruno Tonioli called it the "raunchiest" Viennese waltz he'd ever seen and asked them to do it again, and Carrie Ann Inaba praised Kramer's "really nice lines" and predicted that she'd be "incredible" with increased physical strength. However, that was where the praise ended, as head judge Len Goodman called the routine "all too dramatic" and missed the "soft, flowing" qualities of a traditional Viennese waltz.

The super sexy duo received a wide range of scores that totaled a respectable 27, with a nearly panting Tonioli giving them an 8, Inaba flashing her 7 paddle, and both Goodman and Hough going with a 6.
