Dancing With The Stars 2016 premieres Sept. 12 on ABC as the 13 newly formed celebrity/professional pairs hit the ballroom to hoof it for America's votes for the very first time. So what's on the schedule for Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez and Valentin Chmerkovskiy, actress Marilu Henner and Derek Hough, and the rest of the DWTS 2016 cast on premiere night? Here's a look at style and (in many cases, extremely corny) song choice spoilers, as tweeted by DWTSGossip on Sept. 8.

DWTS 2016 week 1: The gals

The celebrity ladies of the Dancing with the Stars 2016 cast will kick off their individual quests for the Mirrorball Trophy with a variety of entertaining routines set to wide array of musical selections. The assigned styles and songs are as follows:

  • Laurie Hernandez and Val Chmerkovskiy, cha cha, "American Girl" (Bonnie McKee)
  • Marilu Henner and Derek Hough, jive, "Can't Stop Dancing" (Becky G)
  • The Brady Bunch alum Maureen McCormick and Artem Chigvintsev, Viennese waltz, "You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman" (Mary J. Blige)
  • Fashion designer Amber Rose and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, foxtrot, "Here" (Alessia Cara)
  • Singer Jana Kramer and Gleb Savchenko, Viennese waltz, "Dangerous Woman" (Ariana Grande)
  • Little Women: LA star Terra Jole and Sasha Farber, jive, "Stuff Like That There" (Betty Hutton)

Although all six ladies could well produce judge-acclaimed numbers, expect the 16-year old Hernandez, who enters DWTS season 23 as the favorite to take the title, to come out of the gates especially strong.

The celebri-guys of Dancing with the Stars 2016

The seven celebrity guys will open DWTS season 23 with mostly cha chas and foxtrots, though one pair will go against the grain with a fast and furious jive. The assignments include:

  • Disney star Jake T. Austin and Jenna Johnson, jive, "Kiss You" (One Direction)
  • Grammy winner Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds and Allison Holker, foxtrot, "Deed I Do" (Ray Charles)
  • IndyCar driver James Hinchcliffe and Sharna Burgess, foxtrot, "Live Life" (Zayde Wolf)
  • Former NFL star Calvin Johnson, Jr. and Lindsay Arnold, cha cha, "That's What I Like" (Flo Rida)
  • Olympic gold medalist Ryan Lochte and Cheryl Burke, foxtrot, "Call Me Irresponsible" (Michael Buble)
  • Former Texas governor Rick Perry and Emma Slater, cha cha, "God Blessed Texas" (Little Texas)
  • Vanilla Ice (Robert Van Winkle) and Witney Carson, cha cha, "Ice Ice Baby" (Vanilla Ice)

So which guy will deliver on night one of DWTS 2016?

Fans will have to wait and see, but Ryan Lochte, who was just handed a 10-month suspension from USA Swimming following his antics at the Rio Olympics last month, has to hope that he'll make a positive impression.
