Dancing With The Stars 2016 premieres tomorrow night on ABC, and at least one celebrity contestant has already had his fill of haters. Twelve-time Olympic medalist Ryan Lochte, who was recently handed a 10-month suspension from USA Swimming for his antics at the Rio Games last month, hit Twitter early on Sept. 11 to deliver a message to those who "fake care" about him.

Ryan Lochte tweets about 'fake' friends

The tweet, which was posted at 12:55 AM Pacific time, touched on three separate points, with Lochte admitting "I've done wrong I know that" before moving on address his apparent frenemies with "But the ppl that fake care about me hurts the worst!" He closed out his remarks on a hopeful note, however, with "Everything thing happens for a reason!

I learned hard way!"

The 32-year old swimmer will look to revamp his tarnished image when Dancing with the Stars 2016 begins Sept. 12 on ABC. He and pro partner Cheryl Burke, who have dubbed their season 23 partnership 'Team Cherloch,' will open their race for the Mirrorball Trophy with a foxtrot appropriately (or ironically, depending on how you look at it) set to Michael Buble's "Call Me Irresponsible."

Burke praises his DWTS2016 work ethic

Regardless of DWTS viewers' opinions ofLochte, he has a fan in Burke.

In an exclusive interview with the Cheryl Burke Network, the two-time show winner had only positive things to say about her controversial new partner. She praised what she termed his "extremely great work ethic," noting that he has "a great spirit," is a "hard worker," and even "shows up to rehearsal 15 minutes before he's supposed to be there" to stretch.

Lochte and Burke are one of the 13 couples who will compete for the glittering prize during season 23.

The other contenders include Olympic gold medalist Laurie Hernandez and Val Chmerkovskiy; IndyCar driver James Hinchcliffe and Sharna Burgess; singer Jana Kramer and Gleb Savchenko; Grammy winner Babyface and Allison Holker; rapper Vanilla Ice and Witney Carson; former NFL star Calvin Johnson Jr. and Lindsay Arnold; The Brady Bunch star Maureen McCormick and Artem Chigvintsev; Little Women: LA star Terra Jole and Sasha Farber; actress Marilu Henner and Derek Hough; model Amber Rose and Maksim Chmerkovskiy; Disney actor Jake T.

Austin and Jenna Johnson; and former Texas governor Rick Perry and Emma Slater.

Dancing with the Stars 2016 will air Mondays on ABC.
