"Dancing With The Stars" 2016 continued Sept. 26 on ABC as the 12 remaining couples took part in the fast-paced, high-stakes "DWTS" Face-Off Night. Although Olympian Laurie Hernandez and Val Chermkovskiy dominated the top spot on judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli, and Julianne Hough's leaderboard during weeks one and two, it was NFL star Calvin Johnson Jr. and reality TV star Terra Jole's surprisingly inspirationalViennese waltz battle that crowned the "DWTS" week three winner. So which of the two wound up on top?

Terra Jole, Calvin Johnson Jr. prepare for 'DWTS' Face-Off battle

Before hitting the "Dancing with the Stars" 2016 ballroom to perform live for America's votes and a shot at immunity, the pre-taped rehearsal segment showed Johnson and pro partner Lindsay Arnold and Jole and partner Sasha Farber prepping for their time in the spotlight. Arnold shared that she'd opted to show "a more serious side" of Johnson with their Viennese waltz, and Johnson admitted that as a football player, he's not used to "being delicate." Meanwhile, Jole tearfully shared that she hoped the words of her song, the Goo Goo Dolls' "Iris," would help to show the world that it's important for everypersonto be treated like a normal person.

The live 'Dancing with the Stars' face-off

Jole and Farber performed first, and they absolutely sparkled. Jole was graceful and emoted beautifully. It was her best dance to date. Johnson and Arnold followed immediately with their "Woman's World" offering, and they matched what their competitors brought to the ballroom: it was graceful, tender, and smooth, and as always, Johnson wore a big smile throughout.

With time short in the one-hour broadcast, the judges simply displayed scores for each routine, with Jole and Farber earningan impressive 30 out of 40 for their routine, and Johnson and Arnold taking a leaderboard-topping 32. The results secured Johnson and Arnold a place during "Dancing with the Stars" 2016 week four, and left Jole and Farber facing the possibility of elimination tomorrow night, even though they posted the third-highest mark of the night.
