The definitive Hollywood couple is calling it quits. That’s right, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie – the impossibly wealthy entity known as ‘Brangelina’ – have revealed that a divorce is upcoming. According to a report from The Associated Press,a reportthat has tabloid writers having to don drool bibs as they fire up the keyboard, Jolie has filed for dissolution of their two-year marriage.

Decision made for the 'health of the family'

Jolie’s attorney, Robert Offer, told the AP that the decision to divorce was made “for the health of the family.” A very large family at that.

Through their 12 years together and the final two years of marriage after the star-studded pair wed in 2014, the couple has six children – three adopted and three together.

This is the second marriage for the 52-year-old Pitt, who was previously married to actress Jennifer Aniston. Jolie, 41, has been married twice before – to actors Billy Bob Thornton (we all remember how the pair wore vials around their necks containing each other’s blood?) and to Jonny Lee Miller.

Jolie wants custody of the half-dozen kids

According to sources, Jolie has asked for custody of all six of their children, with Pitt being granted visitation rights. The oldest of their children – the adopted Maddox – is 15. Of the other adopted children, Pax is 12 and Sahara is 11. Of the children the couple had together, daughter Shiloh is 10, and the twins Knox and Vivienne are 8-years-old.Rumors surrounding Pitt and Jolie ramped up in 2003 when the pair worked together on the set of the 2005 film Mr.

& Mrs. Smith. A few years later, their relationship went public, and Pitt split from Jennifer Aniston.

Rumors as to what caused the divorce are already out there

Of course, no high-profile divorce in Hollywood would be complete without the rampant accusation of over-drinking, abuse, drug use and cheating:

Other sources say Jolie hired a private investigator who revealed that Pitt allegedly had an affair with actress Marion Cotillard in London while on the set of Allied.

Still other media outlets are saying it wasPitt’s parenting style that pushed Jolie to divorce him; others say she’s sick of acting and wants to focus full-time on her global humanitarian work, and Pitt won’t follow suit.

Whatever the reason(s), attorney Offer said Jolie “will not be commenting, and asks that the family be given its privacy at this time.” Needless to say, that won’t happen.
