Once one of Hollywood's most loved couples, the Brangelina relationship has skidded to a halt, breaking up the family of eight. In the recent media storm surrounding the decision by Angelina Jolie to divorce long-time romantic partner, Brad Pitt, news is buzzing that Angelina will fight for the physical custody of all six of their children, three of whom are adopted, and three of whom are biological.

Angelina Jolie did not want children

According to The Daily Mail, Jolie had never seen motherhood in her future. The "By the Sea" actress was not one of those girls who grew up caring for baby dolls and dreaming of the day when she would have her own child.

"It's strange, I never wanted to have a baby. I never wanted to be pregnant. I never babysat. I never thought of myself as a mother." How, then, did Angelina Jolie end up being the mother of a brood of six children?

Compassion, plain and simple. It was only sixteen years ago (her oldest son, Maddox, is fifteen) when she felt the need to bring a child into her home and heart. Jolie was filming "Tomb Raider" in Cambodia in the year 2000 when the maternal instinct kicked in. While interacting with some schoolchildren, Angelina said it was "suddenly very clear to me that my son was in the country, somewhere." Within two years, she adopted son Maddox from Cambodia. He was only seven-months-old.

In consecutive order, the Jolie-Pitt kids are Maddox Chivan, adopted from Cambodia in 2002, Zahara Marley, adopted from Ethiopia in 2005, Shiloh Nouvel, naturally born to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in 2006, Pax Thien, adopted from Vietnam in 2007, and finally, twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline, born to the "Mr & Mrs.Smith" actors in 2008.

Is Angelina Jolie involved with her children?

According to Heavy, Brad Pitt's wife involves her children in her work, at their delight. Since Maddox is more interested in being behind the scenes, he has served as a production assistant in the film "By the Sea," and will also be joining his mom in a Netflix movie "First They Killed My Father; A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers." Maddox will be on the set every day after school and involved behind the scenes.

"As Maddox and I prepare the film, we will be side by side learning about his country," says the proud mom.

Zahara Marley has also joined Angelina Jolie at work, voicing a role in "Kung Fu Panda 3" as well as a tiny part in "Maleficent." Angelina Jolie's youngest daughter, Vivienne, also played a part in the Disney movie.  "[Vivienne is] always that kid. We call her my shadow at home." This certainly seems to point to a mother who spends time with her children.

What do you think? Will Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie really get divorced, or can they save their twelve year relationship? If they do divorce, who will get the kids?
