It looks like all good things must come to an end. According to TMZ, actress and humanitarian Angelina Jolie has filed for divorce from her husband and actor Brad Pitt

Irreconcilable Differences

41-year-old Jolie filed the papers on Monday, September 20, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. TMZ also reported that Jolie is asking for physical custody of the couples children and requesting that 52-year-old Pitt receive visitation rights to the kids.

The power couple had been dating for ten years before they finally got married on August 23 of 2014. It was a private and small ceremony held in Chateau Miracle, France.

Jolie and Pitt have six children together, Maddox, who is 15, Pax, age 12, Zahara, who is 11, Shiloh, age 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, who are 8-years-old. All six children have the last name of Jolie-Pitt, although only three of the children are the biological children of Pitt.

This isn't the first time that rumors began about the pair splitting. Just a few months ago it was written in a few online publications that the couple were divorcing. This is the first time though that it's been reported that actual divorce papers have been filed.

Past relationships

Jolie has been married twice before she wed Pitt. Her first marriage was to actor Jonny Lee Miller, who she married in March of 1996. That union didn't even last for three years, with Jolie filing for divorce in February of 1999.

Her second marriage was to actor Billy Bob Thornton, who she married after only a two-month courtship. The couple married in Las Vegas on May 5, 2000 and divorced on May 27, 2003.

Pitt has had many high profile relationships in the past, including ones with Gwyneth Paltrow and Juliette Lewis. In 1998, he met and began dating actress Jennifer Anniston. The couple later married in July of 2000 and stayed married for five years. Anniston filed from divorce from Pitt after rumors began that Pitt was having an affair with his then co-star, Angelina Jolie. In the official divorce documents, Anniston cited irreconcilable differences.
