The 68th Emmy Awards' host, Jimmy Kimmel, warned us all at the beginning of the broadcast: "If your show doesn't have a dragon or a white Bronco in it, go home now!"Of course, he was referring to the "Game of Thrones"and the "People v. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story," both of which shows were the big winners last night. "Game of Thrones" broke yet another record and now hasthe title for the highest number of Emmy awardswon in history, surpassing Frasier's record of 37 Emmy wins. So, I'm guessing Jimmy Kimmel wasn't really joking.

And the winner is

The HBO series was nominated in 24 different categories and managed to collect 12 statuettes last night, including best directing, best writing, as well as best drama series. For the second year in a row, the show won the show won the award for outstanding drama series, and this only proves that "Game of Thrones" still reigns and is unstoppable. The showrunners, David Benioff and Daniel B. Weiss, thanked HBO for standing beside them and supporting them all these years. Part of the show's success is the big budget that makes it possible for them to produce and present such high quality and visually pleasing episodes.

Let's not forget that each episode costs approximately $10 million to be made, according to reports. In addition, the cast, producers, writers and generally all the people who work tirelessly behind the cameras make the show what it is. Last but not least, the showrunners also thanked George R. R. Martin, who is, after all, the man who started everything; his story is undoubtedly the core of the success.

GOP is a fan and critic favorite

It is undeniable that "Game of Thrones" is not your regular TV show. With high-quality production and visuals that most box office movies will be jealous of, it is clear that we are only at the beginning. A fan and critics favorite, the show is promising to write history, not just be a part of it. Winter is officially coming on the 25th of June, 2017, when the premiere episode of the 7th season will air.

Until then, all we can do is wait patiently and be prepared, for anything can happen.
