Buzz has swirled for quite some time now that Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar from “19 Kids and Counting” were going to pursue adopting another child, and now some interesting news has emerged on that front. Reports have now come out noting that they do seem to have added another child to their family, at least temporarily, but it did not happen in exactly the way many would have anticipated.

Who is the new child living with the '19 Kids' Duggar family?

According to Gossip Cop, Jim Bob, and Michelle Duggar currently have custody of her great-nephew, a young boy who is 8-years-old.

The boy is the son of Michelle's niece, Rachel Hutchins, and the Duggars went to court on August 31 and were granted temporary guardianship of him, notes inTouch.

Reports indicate that the boy's mother Rachel, 23, has been dealing with some difficult circumstances in her life and apparently she first had the boy in her mother's care. However, Rachel's mother, Michelle's sister, had a stroke in July and now cannot care for the child. Rachel then agreed to place the boy with the Duggar family.

The Duggars are due back in court in November to pursue making the guardianship permanent, and after that, they reportedly will work to formally adopt the boy.

Reports indicate that Hutchins is in agreement with this plan.

Will the new Duggar child be seen on 'Counting On'?

While “19 Kids and Counting” was canceled by TLC after scandals involving the family's oldest son Josh emerged, Jill Duggar Dillard, Jessa Duggar Seewald, and several of the other siblings are now featured on a TLC spinoff show titled “Counting On.” At this point, it seems that this young boy will be kept off of the show and out of the spotlight.

People will certainly share strong opinions about the Duggar family adding a 20th child to the mix of things. However, given the circumstances in this situation, even the family's harshest critics would surely acknowledge that this is somewhat different and likely a good situation for the young boy who is in need of some stability and permanence. What do you think of the "19 Kids and Counting" crew growing by one more like this?
