Snoop Dogg and Whiz Khalifa, on Friday night were left horrified after a stage railing collapsed in Camden, New Jersey leaving more than 40 people transported to local area hospitals for treatment. The sold out show was underway when it was revealed that the rappers began calling for fans to come closer to the stage which sent the large group of people into a bit of a chaotic frenzy.

As fans began to rush, packing in tighter and tighter, all of a sudden under the massive body pressure the railing collapsed, bringing on a horrific domino effect. It was just before 11:00 p.m.

that the partition from the secondary stage set up behind the seating section near the lawn collapsed causing a number of injuries as several people fell below into a concrete pit area.

Some fans in attendance caught the horrific accident on cell phone video recordings.

The scene was described by one fan that said as soon as the rapper called for fans to come closer it was total chaos. Things quickly escalated out of control as fans began pushing and shoving others, and before they knew it the railing was collapsing and people were falling to the ground below. Many landed onto the concrete, while several others landed directly on top of them.

40 fans rushed to hospital during Snoop and Khalifa show

Emergency responders began arriving, taking injured parties to five hospitals surrounding the city for medical treatment. It was announced today by Live Nation, the venue operators, that the broken gate railings have been "secured" and that an investigation is now underway to determine the exact cause of the railing collapse.

At this time it has been stated that 41 concert attendees and some employees were taken to area hospitals and treated for severe bruising and minor broken bones. It was also announced that future concert performances scheduled for Saturday, August 6th of the "I Love the 90s" tour featuring artists Salt N Pepa and Vanilla Ice, as well as Sunday's Fifth Harmony performance, will carry on as originally scheduled.

Investigation underway

As for Snoop Dogg and Whiz Khalifa, they were immediately removed from the stage, and the show canceled, at this time it has not been announced as to whether the show will be rescheduled at a later date, or refunded.
