Just a few moments ago a new trailer for the film Rogue one: A Story of Star Wars, premiered on NBC on Thursday night, while broadcasting the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

The film

This film will be the first of three spin-offs, of the Disney franchise and will star Felicity Jones, as Jyn Erso, who will be the leader of the rebellion that go over the plans for the Death Star, and Diego Luna as Cassian Andor, a young rebel who accompanies Erso in this amazing adventure.

Also, in the filming we will see the best performances of: Riz Ahmed, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Forest Whitaker, among others. The Death Star will be in command of the legendary Darth Vader, the iconic character of the Star Wars series, which could not be out this film.

Rogue One film was written by Chris Weitz, and bases its plot prior to the original Star Wars movie (before 1977). The release date is scheduled for December 16th of this year.

The new trailer shows Jyn Erson with Cassian, together with the Rebel Alliance, prepared for a unique mission, set to steal the plans for the Death Star, for this will have to face the terrible Darth Vader.

What's next?

After the hit of the movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens, starring Harrison Ford, it's now expected that this prequel to the series promises to be one of the first at the box office.

British actress Felicity Jones is the leader Jyn Erson, and for those who do not know, she was nominated for an Oscar in 2015 for best actress for her work in the movie 'The Theory of Everything.' She was also released from her role as Ethel Hallow in The Worst series.

Diego Luna will be Cassian, the rebel who helps Jyn to face Darth Vader. Diego is a Mexican actor who began his career when he was just 8-years-old. He made his debut in 2001. He has been surrounded by quality actors such as Salma Hayek, Kevin Costner, Tom Hanks, Sean Penn, and several others throughout his career.
