Ringo Starr will become the second former Beatle to perform in California’s San Joaquin Valley this fall when he performs at Bob Hope Theatre in Stockton. The performance is set for Nov. 17 at the theater, located at 242 E. Main St. in Stockton. Tickets range from $75.50 to $121.50 with additional fees added at checkout. Members of Ringo’s band are Todd Rundgren, Gregg Rolie, Steve Lukather, Richard Page, Warren Ham and Gregg Bissonette.

McCartney set for Sacramento

Paul McCartney became the first former Beatle to perform in California’s agricultural belt earlier this year when he kicked off his One on One Tour at Save Mart Center in Fresno.

McCartney returns to the Valley for two performances, Oct.4-5, at Golden 1 Center, located at 547 L St. in Sacramento. Tickets to see McCartney range from $49.50 to $250. VIP tickets will also be available for the Oct. 4 concert. The premium tickets allow fans to attend McCartney’s soundcheck prior to the formal concert.

Top price for Beatles tickets was $5

The Beatles, who stopped touring in 1966, did not perform in the San Joaquin Valley. There were no venues large enough to handle the number of fans who would want to attend, and ticket prices typically ranged from $2 to $5 each. The closest The Beatles came to the Valley was San Francisco. Many Beatles fans from the Valley traveled to Bay Area venues to see them.

A growing population, larger venues and exploding ticket prices have attracted larger acts to the central region in recent years.

Ringo’s hits

Ringo was one of the most-successful ex-Beatles in the early years following the band’s breakup in 1970. Singles making the Billboard top 10 were “It Don’t Come Easy,” “Back off Boogaloo,” “Photograph” and “You’re Sixteen.” Former bandmate George Harrison joined him on “It Don’t Come Easy” and “Photograph.”

McCartney is ex-Beatles champ

McCartney has had 22 top 10 singles as a solo performer and as a collaborator with such artists as Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder.

His latest hit is “FourFiveSeconds,” a collaboration with Kanye West and Rihanna that reached No. 4 in the United States in 2015.Ringo Starr to perform in Stockton
